About Josh

Josh was born in Athens, Georgia and moved to Greenville as a baby. He was raised here and graduated from J.L. Mann High School in 1995. He attended Clemson University and graduated with a marketing degree in 1999.

After Clemson, Josh attended the University of South Carolina School of Law and graduated in 2002. He immediately went into practice with Debra Chapman, who is now a Circuit Court judge in the Midlands.

In 2005, Josh started his own law practice and has been practicing on his own and then with his current law partner, Chris Leonard, since then. They currently have offices in Columbia and Greenville, and Josh handles civil and criminal cases around South Carolina in both state and federal courts. Though he practices all over the state, Greenville is his home and where he spends most of his time.

In 2013, Josh married his wife Cameron, who started and owns Good to Go Greenville, a specialty food store that she grew by herself from their home kitchen into two stores, nearly 50 employees, and a customer base that spans the Upstate and beyond. They live in the North Main area and have three daughters. Piper (21) lives in Charleston, South Carolina, and Lucy Snow (9) and Marris (6) attend elementary school at Stone Academy, a public school in the North Main area.

Why I’m Running

My wife and I have raised our three daughters here in Greenville, my hometown and Cameron’s adopted hometown. All of us have a deep love for South Carolina and our city of Greenville. This is one of the fastest growing counties in one of the fastest growing states in the United States. The city of Greenville has been a wonderful community.

Our children will always know Greenville as their hometown, and it has been very good to our family. Watching my wife’s small business grow to be an integral part of the community has made me value the city as a place of opportunity. Watching my children grow up here has further instilled an appreciation for why this city matters. More importantly, it has fostered a need to give back to the place that has been so generous to us.

Quite simply, this run for office is far more than my desire to give back to Greenville. It is about my family wanting to give back. My wife and children know this will be difficult and a busy time, but all of us are in this together and want the best for District 22.

Politics have become divisive and elected officials have lost the trust of the people. I intend to change that. I want to restore the people’s faith in the people they put in office. It is time for government to start doing things for us instead of doing things to us. When we trust our elected officials, we can trust our government. It is time to return to the days when politicians spoke for the people.

Chip in to help.

Every vote matters. So does every dollar.
