Show up. Listen. Serve.
Representation you can trust to do the right thing.
We are losing faith in our government. That makes sense – it is not working for us. The government should be improving our lives. It should be doing things for us. Instead, it is doing things to us. Our elected officials are far more concerned about politics than service.
It is time to change that. Restoring trust in government means electing representatives who want to serve and listen to the people.
Meet Josh Kendrick
I was born in Athens, Georgia, and moved to Greenville as a baby. I was raised here and graduated from J.L. Mann High School in 1995. I attended Clemson University and graduated with a degree in marketing in 1999.
After Clemson, I attended the University of South Carolina School of Law and graduated in 2002. I immediately began practicing with Debra Chapman, a well-respected local lawyer in the Midlands.
In 2005, I started my own law practice and have been practicing on my own and then with my current law partner, Chris Leonard, since then. We currently have offices in Columbia and Greenville, and I handle civil and criminal cases across South Carolina in both state and federal courts. Though I practice all over the State, Greenville is my home and where I spend most of my time.
In 2013, I married my wife, Cameron, who started and owns Good to Go Greenville, a specialty food store she grew from our home kitchen to two stores, nearly 50 employees, and a customer base that spans the Upstate and beyond. We live in the North Main area and have three daughters. Piper (21) lives in Charleston, and Lucy Snow (9) and Marris (6) attend Stone Academy.
Issues & Priorities
Accessibility
I am committed to listening to the people of District 22, regardless of their political positions or if they voted for me. If elected, you will have a voice. I will let you know what I am doing, why I am doing it, and how it affects you. This position is not about me, it is about us. You will have my phone number, my email address, and my ear. Voices of dissent will have the same consideration as any other voice. If I am elected, I will be representing you not just myself.
Public Education
Opportunity is the key to making our lives better, and it starts with education. South Carolina is always ranked at the bottom of the country in education and it is time for that to change. Every single child in South Carolina should start with the same opportunity. I believe education of children is a right, not a privilege. It is a core function of government and government has let us down.
Affordability
Every day, our lives become more expensive. Our dollars do not go as far and our lives are harder. From the grocery store to the gas station, more money buys less. People in District 22 who make $60,000 a year often have to get a second or even a third job. The smallest unexpected expenses can drain savings and put people into debt.
It’s time to work together to find a solution. Tax reform is not enough. We need access to housing and jobs. We need working families to be able to take care of children without being stressed. We need to keep more of our money and spend less of it. Those solutions are possible, but only when government works for you.
